The vision for the Upper Valley Aquatic Center originated in March of 2004 at a meeting attended by a group of swimming parents with a passion to provide quality year-round aquatic programming and facilities for their children and the community. These humble beginnings have evolved into the premier aquatic and wellness center in the Upper Valley.
Four and a half years from the initial discussion, the Upper Valley Aquatic Center will open its doors in January of 2009. This public aquatic and wellness facility will serve the fitness, education, competition and safety needs of the Upper Valley residents with plenty of room to expand on the site to meet the Upper Valley's growing population.
The Upper Valley Aquatic Center, a 37,500 square foot aquatic and wellness facility will house a 10 lane, 25 meter x 25 yard Competition pool, a separate warm water instructional pool, a splash park with water features and waterslide, a state-of-the-art fitness center and a group fitness studio. Supporting amenities include a spectator seating area with viewing for 400, a kidzone area and oversized locker rooms.
One hundred percent of the money to build this $15 million public aquatic and wellness facility was raised by the Upper Valley Aquatic Center's board.
